What participants say about our training
“This course really demystified the process of submitting to a peer-reviewed journal and I feel much more confident about starting my first submission. The training materials and content were very informative and easily accessible and the course facilitators were really engaging and supportive. I picked up lots of practical tips and learnt about some really useful tools which I plan to use in the future.”
Annemarie Knill, ICR, UK
“I particularly liked the mixure between interactive parts (group work) and lectures. Also us watching the videos beforehand, and you (teachters) only repeating some main points, was very well conceptualized. It was really cool that we had to do homework with a reasonable workload. I cannot remember another course that I took where I was that prepared for each session. Everything could be memorized well because of the 3-way input (video, handout, zoomsession).”
Particpiant, ZI Mannheim, Germany
“The course was well-structured; it covered important topics such as writing an abstract and choosing a journal. I really liked the concise and clear videos as well as the handouts with additional information; and the idea of having online course plus weekly zoom sections for communication worked really well.”

Course content and customisations
We can deliver our key course content in a range of ways, both online and in person (when possible).
Our most popular format is a 5-week course with 5 live video sessions of 1.5 hours each, supported by videos and other materials on Moodle.
In person training can be 1-day or 2-day workshops at your location.
Cofactor training is based on our course 'Writing and publishing a scientific paper', which can be customised in a number of ways, including for different subject areas, or with the focus on either writing or publishing.
Our online courses are modular, so you can pick the modules you want covered and the pattern of live video sessions that suit you.
From bespoke courses designed for your researchers, to off-the-shelf e-learning packages, we have options to support a range of training budgets.
Whether you run the central researcher development centre of a large university or are a small department or group, our courses can be customised to fit your needs. Get in touch to find out how.
